You can add money to your Paytm wallet through debit cards, credit cards, net banking or UPI. We process all transactions instantly and in 99.9% of cases, money is added to your wallet within seconds.
However, there are rare circumstances beyond our control where transactions don’t go through successfully but funds get deducted from your bank account. This usually happens when post deduction of money, your banks do not give us a success or a failure transaction status within the stipulated time or we are not able to get the correct status from the bank due to network issues at bank’s end. Hence, resulting in such transactions taking a little bit longer to process.
As and when it happens, our priority is to get the final status from your bank and add money to your Paytm wallet. Here is what happens behind the scenes in such scenarios:
- Paytm keeps checking with your bank at regular intervals to know whether your transaction was successful or not. In case your transaction was successful, money is added to your wallet instantly. For failed cases or cases where we do not get final success /failure status within 48 hours, we request your bank to refund the amount instantly
- Basis of this request, your bank processes the refund and shares a Refund Reference Number (RRN) with us instantly.
- Time taken by your bank to hand over this money in your account /card is beyond our control. You may contact your bank customer care to find out the timelines as per their internal process
- In case you do not receive your refund amount, you should reach out to your bank’s customer care using the RRN shared by us.
Kindly note that your money is safe under all circumstances and your amount will be refunded back to you if in case your transaction fails.
